Q: What is Meet-Up ’25?
The PMP Pals Meet-Up is a global, in-person gathering, dedicated to the appendix cancer and PMP community—bringing together patients, survivors, caregivers, and medical experts for a weekend of connection, education, and support.
Q: When and where is Meet-Up ’25?
A: Meet Up ‘25 will take place from Friday, October 24, to Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Uptown in Charlotte, North Carolina (401 E Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Charlotte, NC) The majority of programming (speaker sessions, social gatherings) will take place at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Uptown, making it convenient for attendees. Staying at the host hotel means you’ll be just steps away from all the action, with plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow Pals throughout the weekend.
Q: Why Charlotte?
A: The PMP Pals Board is committed to rotating the Meet-Up location to make it more accessible to different regions. This year, for the first time, we’re hosting the event in the Eastern Time Zone! Charlotte was selected because it offers a central East Coast location, making travel easier for many in our community. Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is an American Airlines hub – meaning it ranks #8 in the U.S. for direct flights in and out.
In Charlotte, you won’t need a car —  the hotel is steps away from many of the cultural and entertainment activities that Charlotte has to offer. Plus, a streetcar line runs right by the Embassy Suites, stopping at interesting destinations, including a light rail station for metro-wide expeditions.
Q: How do I get there?
A: The closest airport is Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), which is about 10 miles (approximately a 15-minute drive) from the hotel.
Options for transportation include:
Rideshare (Uber/Lyft): Easily available at the airport
Taxi: Located at the airport’s designated taxi stand
Light Rail: The Lynx Blue Line connects the airport area to Uptown Charlotte
Q: How do I register?
A: Click the “Count Me In” Registration above or at the bottom of this page.
Q: Is there a registration fee?
A: The suggested contribution is $75 per person, which helps to offset event costs such as the venue, catering, and other essentials, so we can make this a meaningful experience for everyone.
Q: Can I attend alone, or should I bring a guest?
A: You’re more than welcome to attend alone or bring a guest! Many attendees come solo and quickly find a strong sense of community. Name tags will be provided, and we’ll make sure that anyone attending alone feels included. Caregivers, friends, and family members are also encouraged to join—last year, we even had three generations of a Pals-family attend!
Q: How can I reserve a hotel room at the group rate?
A: After registering, you’ll receive a link to book your room at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Uptown at our special group rate of $199 plus tax per night. Our group rate is available from: October 23, 2025 – October 27, 2025 (book by: October 6, 2025) The Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Uptown is an all-suite hotel. Q: Can I extend my stay beyond the event dates?
A: Absolutely! Many attendees choose to arrive earlier or depart later to explore Charlotte and enjoy more time together.
